NYC Subway Art: 42nd Street - Times Square

Times Square Mural, 2002
Roy Lichtenstein

The 16 panels of porcelain on steel are approximately 53 feet by 6 feet. This was Lichetenstein’s last public work and it was a gift to New York City. It was completed in 1994, but because of MTA budget problems, it was kept in storage until 2002. Now it can be seen at the 42nd Street Times Square subway station.
