NYC Subway Art: 34th Street - Penn Station

This beautiful mosaic is often overlooked because it is located at the end of the 34th Street 2 and 3 subway platform.

The mosaic shows a pair of lions coexisting with birds. The stream represents the Hudson River and the cliffs in the background represent the Palisades in New Jersey.

Square plaques along the walls of the 1 platform show the life of a blackbird in the city.
