Van Gogh at the Metropolitan Museum of Art

Van Gogh:  Irises and Roses
on exhibit until August 16, 2015

Painted on the eve of his departure from the asylum at Saint-Rémy, the group includes the Metropolitan Museum's Irises and Roses and the upright Irises from the Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam, and the horizontal Roses from the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.

These four paintings were dispersed shortly after Van Gogh's death, in July 1890.  This exhibition reunites the four paintings for the first time since the artist's death
